Passwords are on the way out, and you should consider using more modern authentication methods where possible. But if you really need a complex, unique password Vinnuo can help.

What is it?

Vinnuo allows you to generate application or website specific passwords based on a master secret, to generate application specific passwords and avoid password re-use. In a nutshell, you’ll only have to remember the master secret to generate a site specific password.

By using Vinnuo, you won’t have to store complex passwords in unsafe locations given that the passwords are generated on-the-fly whenever you need them.

A word of caution

Be aware that this tool is NOT run as a commercial product, it was developed during my spare time as a hobby project.

It is run on shared infrastructure (Azure), over which I have little control. While communication between your browser and the backend endpoints is encrypted (SSL), I don’t know who has access to data in transit once it hits the Azure infrastructure.
